Product Overview

The Electronic Vaporizer Assembly is an integral subsystem along with the agent cassette. The subsystem is provided to add an agent to the fresh gas flow. It mixes a specified amount of anesthetic agent into the fresh gas stream. The electronic control unit governs the flow through the agent cassette and the agent concentration in the fresh gas flow. The agent is delivered from the subsystem in one of two configurations depending on whether cassette pressure is below or above mixer output pressure. It consists of a backpressure valve which builds a pressure at the input to the vaporizer to drive gas through the cassette, if necessary a pressure relief valve that limits the maximum outlet pressure, the inflow and outflow flowmeters which measure flow by developing a pressure drop across a flow restrictor, the inflow and outflow valves which direct flow in the subsystem and an inflow check valve that prevents unmetered agent vapor from flowing backwards and entering the fresh gas stream.
