Product Overview

A Rivet is a cylindrical rod having a head and a tapered tail. The main body of the rivet is called shank. The design of the joint is as important as that of machine components because a weak joint may spoil the utility of a carefully designed machine part. The material used for this rivet is SS42 Stainless Steel. Stainless rivets have the strongest tensile strengths, shear strengths and mandrel break-load standards of all the break mandrel rivets. They resist tarnishing under most atmospheric conditions and offers high strength at moderately raised temperatures. The chromium also provides sacrificial protection to steel by being preferentially corroded in case the coating is damaged or small areas which are exposed to corrosive agents. In addition to the corrosion protection chromium coatings also provide a low coefficient of friction which in turn provides good lubricity for the rivet. This stainless steel rivet is used in Signa Advantage 1.5T, Signa Horizon LX 1.5T, Signa Performance Plus 1.5T and Advantx machines, among others.
